Klondike Derby 2012

On the weekend of January 20-21, 2012, we will attend the
Thunderbird District Klondike Derby

On this event, scouts will demonstrate their scouting skills in competition with other troops in Thunderbird District.

Since the scouts will be busy all day, the adults will cook for the entire troop!  All participants will still need to bring mess kits.

The fee for the event is $15.00 which includes the cost of the food.  Any credits will go to the scouts account.

We will assemble at St. Sabina Gym at 5:30 PM and depart at 6:00 PM on Friday 2012-01-20.
Scouts will need to bring winter camping gear:

  • Boots
  • Hat
  • Gloves
  • Coat (water proof)
  • Flashlight
  • Sleeping Bag
  • At least one change of clothes (three changes of socks)

We also plan on dining out on Saturday evening after the Klondike.
Scouts should bring additional money ($10-$12) for eating at either:
Pizza Street or Rib Crib!
Familes are welcomed to join us for dinner.

Christmas Gifts

 

We will conduct our Christmas Party on 20-December, 2010 during our regular meeting time.

The evening’s activities will include a gift exchange and games.
To participate, please bring a covered / concealed / wrapped gift valued at about $8 – $10.
The gifts should be in good taste and appropriate for a young man.
Participation is optinal (not mandatory).

Please bring the cracker barrel items of your choice for snacking.

Uniform: Class A (Field Uniform).

22-NOV-2010 Bring Rope (or Line) to meeting

New scouts can either bring a 3-foot segment of rope (or line) or borrow some from the older scouts tonight.
 
NEW scouts will also receive their own rope-kit tonight.

Hero Packs

We have been invited to assist in creating Hero Packs along with other Belton Youth organizations and Veterans groups.

We are requested to write letters to youth dependents of military personnel who are currently serving and/or deployed overseas.

We will discuss this at the meeting on 25-OCT-2010.

The Cub Scout Family Campout is an opportunity for boys and their families to start the Cub Scout year off with a fun outdoor event.  This overnight campout will feature games and activities designed for the entire family.

A parent or guardian must accompany and be responsible for each Cub Scout and other family members for the entire event.

Cost is: $8.00 per person (including adults and siblings).  Cash or check (made payable to BSA) only.  No credit cards.  Fee covers food and program supplies.

 


Troop 111 will serve as staff for this event, so the troop camping fee is $6.00 with no additional costs.

We will serve either at the water rocket station or where needed.

Please be prepared for any type of weather.

We will depart St. Sabina at 6:00 PM Friday evening and return at 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon.
